Serenity Now!! Insanity Later...
Helloooooooo  (in my best Ranjit voice --  HIMYM? Anyone? No? Moving on)
Random Shit Tuesday back in the house. Are you ready to have your mind blown? HA!

So -- in case you're all curious, YES. Yes, I did make that all important email and ask for my job back. I had a former coworker of mine Mr. Peacock (who still works there) proof read my email. He's been great about my neurotic questions about what should it say? Should I address him as "Mr."? Etc. etc... I emailed on Thursday afternoon, so it was after office hours on the east coast. He DID EMAIL ME BACK Friday morning. All it said was Anne, Give me a call when you have a free minute.  I’m at ext 2**** . That's a direct quote. No signature. No nothing. So I called an hour after the email came in, about 1:30 EST. And I got no answer. I triednot to get too worried since it was a Friday after all, and who knows what's going on in the office. Then Monday. NOTHING. So, after careful advisement from Mr. Peacock yet again, I set my alarm for 6am PST to make a "first thing in the morning" call. Voicemail yet again!! However, it rang once, so that usually means he's on the other line. Anyway... I'll be sure to keep you posted. I'm really excited about this though. I realized once I hung up and I was shaking that I pretty much really wanted my old job back. Like for reals. Kind of exciting, but scary, cause you know, they may not want me back. *sigh* And now I wait...

I am SOOO in love with this show.
The Walking Dead, on AMC
The Walking Dead is freaking Gah-REAT! I'd heard some people on a local radio show talking about it one day and realized I really needed to see it. Its basically a zombie movie, but a tv show. Its based on a graphic novel that is "intensely character driven". I love anything zombie and they've done a fantastic job on this show. Great special effects and, in my opinion, great casting (I had no idea the main guy was actually British!) I'm not sure when season two starts, but I'm super excited. Season 1 is only six episodes, 1 hour each. I just happened to catch a marathon on AMC the other weekend, when they showed it pretty much back-to-back all weekend long. I'm sure its on the usual online viewing places. Totally check this out! TWO THUMBS WAY UP!

Note to self, don't read books about food, when you're on a two day fast. Especially this one

nothings turns you into Homer Simposon worse than drinking leek soup broth all day long and then looking at this
mmmmmm... quarter pounder with cheese....
Although I highly recommend this book. Well, any one of them actually. Other than the mouth watering pictures of stuff you're not supposed to eat they give you somewhat healthier (and i use that word loosely) options for some of your favorite places to eat. Granted I try to avoid eating at fast food places, or in chain restaurants as a rule, but sometimes you are stuck eating there, whether for work or someone in your family chooses to eat there for their birthday. Its nice to know you're not secretly eating the 1,700 calorie / 62 grams of fat chicken salad at Chili's but something a little less bad for your ass heart.

Have any of you seen THIS?!
I saw a commercial for this monstrosity the other day, and I have a few things to say about it.
FIRST OFF -- if your dog is fat, its YOUR FAULT . Unless he's escaping every night (also your fault) and eating out of dumpsters form a Chinese restaurant, you're in charge of feeding him. This means you don't give your dog Doritos. Sweet Jesus, even I don't eat those, let along give them to my dog. My dad is notorious for giving his dog saltine crackers. What the fuck?! Talk about empty calories. Anyway. If you can't manage to restrain yourself from giving your pup too many treats, or God forbid, use a measuring cup when feeding your pooch, you don't deserve to own a pet. Seriously. They are genetically engineered to eat whenever and whatever they can. In the wild, its feast or famine, and your dog is only a few generations away from being a wild dog.

So WHYYYYY  would you spend all this money on a "diet system" for your dog? Its pre-measured food (um... ever heard of a measuring cup?) and pre portioned treats (uh yeah, you don't know how to count?). THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE PAYING FOR. What the shit?! Laziness to the millionth degree. Let me guess, you're incredibly over weight too. *sigh* This is why the terrorists hate America. Hell, this is why I hate America.

Where the hell are my W-2's!!!
I worked for a company that went out of business, thank youuuuuuuu Hollywood Video, and I'm hoping I get my W-2's soon. I wanna get my refund baby!! Mama wants a new tv!! The 22" tube monstrosity just isn't cutting it for me. Hellooo 42" LCD Flatscreen. YES!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Smooches,

love to love you

Well I was totally going to write a blog today about stuff that I hate. You know... going on and on about Jay Leno, Nirvana, socks with sandals, people who say "you're welcome" before you get a chance to say "thank you"... But then I thought, no. McGriddle Pants, you need to be more positive! So as I started working on it, I took a break and read a couple of other bolgs. Low and behold... Miss Salt did a blog today about her favorite stuff now too! Its like we're connected on some psychic level. It was a sign from heaven! The clouds departed and a ray of light shown down with the chorus of angels signing "Aaaaaahhhhhh!" Meant to be.

Just be warned, when the mood strikes me again, I'll more than likely be finishing up the blog of hatred too. Cause I hate a lot of stuff.

1. Jasmine Tea

I'm so into loose leaf teas right now too. I have a cute little tea diffuser that sits in my tea cup and just LOVE it. And its driving me nuts that I'm having such a hard time finding the stuff! I don't want loose leaf in a bag, just LOOSE! ANywhoodle, I found some at Whole Foods the hippie store. Surprise surprise, found some! In bulk even! Now, don't get me wrong, I absolute love Whole Foods! But come on... its totally a hippie store. Wow, I've gotten really of track. Where was I? Oh yes! Jasmine tea. I first had this jasmine tea when Mr. Man and I went to this cute little Japanese restaurant for VDay. Its so sweet and floral and so yum yum yummy!Give it a try! And if you love tea, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

2. Designing Women

For serious. I've always loved these sassy gals. I love Julia's rants and pseudo-freak outs about worthy causes and just the over all happy feeling of the show. Cheesey yes, hokey plot lines directed at raising awareness of the occasional social commentary of the day (domestic abuse, homelessness, homosexuality). Honestly they're the reason that I've always wanted to visit Hot-tlanta. (Then of course I met Mr. Peacock, and have someone to visit when I go there! Shout out buddy!) I was so excited to see that NetFlix had the first 4 seasons available, and of course added the other 3 seasons, that aren't even on DVD yet, to my queue. And why they hell is it pronounced "que"? there's two more letters in the word! shouldn't it be Que-ey? Que-ew? Good gravy, I've derailed that train of thought too!

3. Zombies
Again inspired by Salt I'm prompted to tell of my love of zombies. Of all the horror movies in circulation, zombie movies are my be-all end-all favorite. Brains, staggering walks, crazy flesh ripping... you name it! To create a list within a list here's my top fav's
  1. 28 days later (Great, great movie)
  2. Night of the Living  Dead (the 1990 version with Candyman) "They're coming to get you Barbara!"
  3. Dawn of the Dead (the new one with the crazy Kenyan-like sprinting zombies)
  4. Zombieland (LOVE the funny zombie movie! Don't forget the Double Tap!)
  5. Shaun of the Dead (Probably the most realistic way the zombie attack will happen)
  6. Dead Snow (come on...how can Nazi Zombies not be the best movie ever?!)
  7. Resident Evil (As kicking Mila Jovovich, yeahhh! The sequels however were lackluster)
I guess we can say I love the zombs. So much in fact that my friend made me this lovely card...

How awesome is this?

4. Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme

Product Placement! Hahahaa, no I'm not getting paid for this... I wish! I love this stuff! Not only does it smell yummy and remind me of summer (Coconut always does that to me. That and Hawaiian Tropic sunscreens. Can you say Piña Colada?)  but this stuff works great too! Smooths and gets rid of any yucky signs of "winter feet". Just rub it on and put on some socks before bed. Or like me... put it on with socks while watching day-time tv and blogging. Ahhhh unemployment. I will also occasionally put some on my elbows to fight "old lady elbows".

5. Cute Springtime Nail colors!

Sally Hansen's VIP PINK!

What I don't love?

VIP Pink, spilled on the carpet... Booooooo!

(Please don't judge my dirty carpet, I'm currently moving!)

What are you loving right now?

butter fingers

had another fun filled weekend!
Last friday we instituted flag football friday in the park. Just some pals from work, having a great time, being out of shape, and throwing a football, pretending to have skillz.

This friday was part deux only this time in the rain.

First play of the game (i shit you not) I go to pull a flag from a girl. thumb and index finger on the flag, ring ringer slides inside her pocket unbeknownst to me, and as I pulled the flag, my finger was caught in her pocket. BAM! Ouch! well, that stings a bit...

So as my finger began to swell, and ache, I thought... hmm... this sucks.

2 hours later, i cant bend or straighten my finger. LUCKILY I took my ring off about an hour earlier.

Of course I had plans to see zombieland, so I taped 'er up and went to see it. Which by the way, was an amazing movie. But back to the topic at hand...

Finally get to urgent care, right before they closed, and wouldn't you know it?

yup. Broken.

Also, went to a Uof O football game. Was lots of fun tailgating and hanging out with the family. Also went with my work crush Shaun. So much fun. Even if washington state was crushed. And I didn't wear yellow. Nope. Not at all. Nononono no. You cant prove anything.

I also discovered that my new phone takes AMAZING pictures! Like this one...

Now i must take another vicodin as i am tired of peck typing with that claw of a hand pictured above. ;)

... red sky in morning, sailors take warning

When I drive home, at 4:30 am, the sky is usually pink with hues of yellow as the sun starts to rise in the east.

Today there was no light. No pink. NO blues. As I was getting out of the car, I saw the sky was light in the opposite direction, in the west, and was more RED than pink. Like, a freaky red.

I sure hope today isn't the zombie apocalypse.
